Shiloh Sunset Agate Ring

Here we have a sterling silver tapered ring, featuring a triangular cabochon of Shiloh Sunset Agate from Morrisville, North Carolina

We found this material with the help of a local rockhound, who first discovered this agate while running through a local park. It came as a real shock to us to find viable agates and jaspers here on the east coast. Shiloh Sunset Agate comes in red, orange, yellow, black and brown, and we still have no idea how this material formed, but one day some brave geologist will figure it out for us.

When ordering rings with wider bands, it’s important to consider that they fit differently than slimmer ones. I tend to warn people to pretend like wider bands are a full size smaller than they actually are. So even though this ring is a size 10, I would caution customers to treat it almost like a size 9.
